Quality Curriculum

At Tesoro Preschool, children are taught in both English and Spanish using a research-based curriculum. The curriculum used in every classroom is aligned to both National and State standards. The curriculum used in every classroom focuses on every area of development which include language and literacy, cognitive development, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and social emotional skills. In addition, we provide students with the highest quality education that focuses on learning and having fun! Furthermore, at Tesoro we believe that is extremely important for children to learn about other cultures, foods and traditions. Our enriching, multi-cultural curriculum teach children about other places in our world.
Our curriculum is highly interactive and is complemented by teacher expertise and training. Our teachers are highly experienced in the field of child development and possess a combined experience of over 50 years of teaching experience with diverse backgrounds.
Furthermore, teachers conduct assessments throughout the year to ensure that each child is achieving their learning objectives and milestones for their respective age group. The data derived from the assessment tool used allow us to determine a child’s area(s) for needed growth and expertise. We partner with each family to suggest ideas and activities to work on various developmental domains.
Another component of our curriculum is the use of our aesthetically appealing indoor and outdoor classrooms. Not only do we have fun and inspiring classrooms, but also an outdoor classroom where children will experience outdoor circle time, outdoor table activities, outdoor reading time, and much more! Children learn best from inspiring, lively and fun learning environments. With this concept in mind, each color, wall and furnishing in every learning space has been selected to create these special environments for our students. Our desire is for every child to walk into any space in our facility and feel inspired to learn. We want each of our students to have a magical experience as Tesoro Preschool is a magical place to be!
Lastly, a different activity will be sent home every week to foster and maintain family partnerships. Activities will not require purchasing of new items or materials. The activities will be convenient and focused on a certain objective your child is learning. We also make sure to send home a weekly list of Spanish words used in your child’s class. Sharing this list will allow our families to reinforce what our students are learning at school through repetition at home.
