Every Classroom Now Has a Cozy Corner for Big Feelings

Big feelings show up in every preschool day. A tower falls over. A friend grabs the last blue crayon. This month, every classroom at Tesoro added a cozy corner made for exactly those moments.

We call them social emotional stations. Your Tesorito can sit down, name the feeling, and pick one of five simple ways to calm down. Some children take a slow belly breath. Some give themselves a big hug. We label all five in English and in Spanish, the way we do everything here.

Our teachers started sharing these strategies on the very first days of school, and children are already walking over on their own. That is our favorite moment to watch. A child notices a big feeling and knows just what to do next.

The five strategies come from Conscious Discipline, the social emotional heart of our Frog Street curriculum. Naming feelings and calming down are real skills. Children who learn them early are more ready to play, make friends, and try something new.

We are sending the same five strategies home to you. When your child has a hard moment at the dinner table, you can use the very words they already know from school. Your Tesorito feels safe in both places, and that partnership is the part we love most.
