Some of the most memorable moments in early childhood are the small, surprising ones. The unexpected discovery. The collective gasp. The story that gets retold at the dinner table for days.
On Tuesday, March 17, Tesoro welcomed a very special visitor: a leprechaun.
Inspired by the magic of an elf on the shelf, our team has tucked stuffed animal leprechauns into surprising spots around campus. When the children arrived, the search began. Where did the leprechaun go? Who can spot one first? The energy that comes from that kind of discovery is genuinely contagious.
Green snacks, green outfits, and crafts that celebrate the season
Alongside the leprechaun hunt, the children enjoyed a full day of St. Patrick’s Day themed activities. Green snacks including broccoli, green colored yogurt, and green beans brought the color of the day to the table in a playful, approachable way. Some of our little tesoritos dressed in green so they can be part of the celebration from the moment they walk through the door.
Crafts round out the day, giving children a hands-on creative outlet that connects the theme to their own expression.
Why moments like this matter
At Tesoro, we believe that joy is a learning tool. When children are excited, curious, and engaged, they are absorbing language, building social connection, and creating memories that anchor them to their school community. The leprechaun visit is a small thing on the calendar but a big thing in a child’s experience.
It is also a gift to parents. When your child comes home buzzing about what they found and where, that conversation is meaningful. It is a window into their day, their imagination, and the relationships they are building with their teachers and classmates.
This is the Tesoro way: finding the magic in the everyday and making sure our children feel it.
