There is no better way to close out a summer than with a little magic.
Disney Week brought the final week of Tesoro Summer Camp to a joyful, colorful, music-filled close. The Tesoritos spent the week celebrating some of the most beloved animated stories ever told, all through the lens of Spanish immersion.
Disney Week at Tesoro is about more than nostalgia. Animated storytelling is one of the most powerful tools for language learning that exists. Songs, characters, emotion, and narrative all work together in a way that makes vocabulary and comprehension land deeply. When a child hears a song they already love in Spanish, something clicks. The language stops feeling foreign and starts feeling like home.
Our teaching team filled the week with art projects inspired by classic animated characters and settings, dramatic play built around beloved story worlds, and movie sessions in Spanish that had the whole room singing along by the end. The energy in the classrooms this week was something special.
Spanish vocabulary this week came wrapped in story: magia, sueño, aventura, amigo, valiente, música, corazón. Words that carry feeling, and feelings that make words unforgettable.
Two months of themes, adventures, splash days, friendships, and learning. Disney Week was the perfect closing chapter.
To our tesoritos and their families: thank you for a summer we will not forget. See you in August.
