Drop-off is usually quick. A hug, a wave, and the day begins. But every once in a while, it becomes something more, a few minutes where a child gets to show their dad their world, introduce him to their friends, and feel proud of the place they belong.
That is exactly what we are creating on Thursday, June 18, when Tesoro celebrates Father’s Day during morning drop-off.
What’s Happening
The main hallway will be set up with games and activities for dads and their tesoritos to enjoy together before the school day begins:
- Jumbo Tic Tac Toe
- Jumbo Connect 4
- Foosball
- A craft table
- Donuts
No RSVP is needed. Dads simply drop in during their regular morning drop-off time and enjoy the morning.
Why These Moments Matter
At Tesoro, family engagement is not just a nice extra. It is part of the foundation. Research consistently shows that when fathers are present and involved in their children’s early learning environments, children build stronger language skills, greater confidence, and a more secure sense of self.
But beyond the research, there is something simpler at work. When a dad walks into his child’s school and plays a game of Connect 4 in the hallway, that child gets to say, without words: this is my place, and my dad is here. That feeling is powerful.
These morning moments also give dads a genuine window into their child’s daily world. The hallway, the classrooms visible through doorways, the teachers greeting families by name. It is a reminder that preschool is not just a place children go. It is a community they belong to.
A Craft to Take Home
The craft table will give tesoritos a chance to make something for the dad in their life, a small, handmade token that will mean far more than anything from a store. Those are the keepsakes that end up on refrigerators and desks for years.
Come as You Are
There is nothing to prepare and nothing to bring. Just come through during your regular drop-off window on Friday morning, grab a donut, and spend a few extra minutes with your tesorito.
The Father’s Day celebration at Tesoro takes place on Thursday, June 18, during morning drop-off. We hope to see every dad in our community there.
